Each year, the WPLC community embraces the Lenten discipline of giving our financial gifts to build up the body of Christ. As we journey through our Lenten series Seeking, we are invited to seek justice for our neighbors nearby and around the world.
ministry partners
At WPLC, we are seeking justice in our community by supporting the Behavioral Health Services Program at LSSI (Lutheran Social Services of Illinois) and Katie’s Closet at LSTC (Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago).
Lssi behavioral health program
LSSI is a leader of providing mental health services to people across Illinois. Their Behavioral Health Program provides care coordination, case management services, community support teams, and counseling and therapy services to those struggling with mental illness and substance use, including veterans, those who are unhoused, and people who are uninsured. The mental health group homes help those in Chicago with long-term mental illness take strides toward living independently. LSSI’s crisis services provide immediate support to individuals during a crisis, as well as stabilization support after a crisis. Learn more about the important work they do here.
