Christmas At WPLC

Christmas At WPLC

There’s a place for you to experience Christmas in the joy and tenderness of the season. All of our services will be offered in person and with a livestream experience.

Christmas Eve Children’s Service (Dec 24) – 4:30 p.m. (Christmas Carols Begin at 4 p.m.)

This is a service focused on children with holiday music and cheer. To make this come to life, children will engage with the Christmas story, including conversations about each part with Pastor Jason, and receive a few gifts along the journey! The approximately 50-minute service also includes traditional Christmas hymns and ends with Silent Night. While children ten and under with their families may enjoy this service most, all are welcome!

At-home D.I.Y. Interactive Children’s Service Kit

During the interactive children’s service, we’ll be making four stops on the journey. Here’s some ideas of what you can find around the house to fully immerse your children’s experience from home:

  • First stop – We’re talking about Jesus’ names
    • Find something with the child’s name or with Jesus’ name on it
  • Second stop- We’ll be at the manger
    • Gather something that will help them look like an animal — a mask, a tail, a headband, or stuffed animal
  • Third Stop- We’ll be in the fields with the shepherds
    • Something that can help them see better — glasses, binoculars, telescope, or the like
  • Final Stop – We’ll be with Mary, Joseph, and Jesus
    • A picture of someone your child loves and any gift (in-person they’ll be getting a coloring book and a sticker manger scene)

Christmas Eve Traditional Candlelight Service (Dec 24) – 9 p.m. (Christmas Carols Begin at 8:30 p.m.)

This approximately 60-minute long service includes all things Christmas: Holy Communion, calming candlelight, and passionate preaching! After being roused by the good news of the incarnation, we’ll sing Silent Night by candlelight.

Christmas Day Celebration (Dec 25) – 10 A.m.

Join us to celebrate a central aspect of our faith: the incarnation of our God! This service will be filled with all the Christmas goodness you can imagine—Communion, Christmas hymns, and the presence of God.

New Year’s Day Gathering (Jan 1) – 10 A.m.

It’s time to start the year off right with spiritual self-care! This service will be a littler different because with your bulletin, you’ll be given a mimosa or orange juice to enjoy during worship.

  • Livestream link and bulletin can be found here (coming soon)

Epiphany Sunday Festival (Jan 8) – 10 A.m.

The Magi are coming! Join us as we celebrate God’s revelation to all people and all nations. This Sunday is a BIG DEAL at WPLC! Since many people travel for Christmas, this is our blowout celebration. After worship, we’ll gather for our famous Second Sunday Social and the pies will be flying as we celebrate the successes of our Advent Project.
