Goal: $5,000 ~ Progress: $1105
Each year, the WPLC community embraces the Lenten discipline of giving our financial gifts to those in need. And this year, for our Lenten project, we are supporting a variety of our ministry partners across the city and globe who are especially in need of support during the pandemic.
Through Lent and into Easter, you will be hearing about a different ministry partner each week during worship:
- WPLC’s Little Free Pantry (Ash Wednesday)
- The Night Ministry (week of Feb. 21)
- Trinidad Lutheran Church in Humboldt Park (week of Feb. 28)
- Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (week of March 7)
- Refugee One (week of March 14)
- Katie’s Closet at LSTC (week of March 21)
- Lutheran Disaster Response (Palm/Passion Sunday)
- ELCA World Hunger (the Three Days and Easter Sunday)
Our goal for this year’s Lenten Project is to raise $5,000 by Easter Sunday. Every gift given to one of the service funds during Lent will count towards the goal. To add an extra incentive, if we reach or surpass the goal, Pastor Jason and Vicar Bethany will dye their hair for one Sunday!

Since it was installed last year, there has been a consistent flow of items going out to folks in need and donations from community members.
