Worship Livestream Volunteer Roles

Worship Livestream Volunteer Roles

Because we are still doing Worship Livestream, we have altered a few roles to help you best participate in service with us. No prior volunteer experience is needed so check out our available online volunteer roles and try something new! Contact Annette in the church office (office@wickerparklutheran.org or 773-276-0263) to ensure that you get emails about available opportunities. You can also complete our Digital Connect Card here to sign up for the e-mail blasts.

Sacristan (Altar flowers)

As a Worship Livestream sacristan, we would ask you to purchase, prepare, and drop off the altar flowers the day before worship. We will give you an access code and instructions on how to enter the church. You may leave your receipt with the vases if you would like to be reimbursed or add the purchase to your 2020 tax-deductible donation.

Lector

During COVID-19, our lectors are asked to record themselves reading the texts for service. The readings will be sent to you during the week so you have enough time to complete the recording before Sunday. Once you have recorded on your device, we ask that you email your video to Annette (office@wickerparklutheran.org) and Pastor Jason (pastor@wickerparklutheran.org)

Assisting Minister

Just like our lectors, we ask that our assisting minister record themselves reading the prayers of intercession. We will send out the prayers during the week to give you plenty of time to record and send them in before Sunday’s service. Again, once your video is recorded we ask that you email it to both Annette (office@wickerparklutheran.org) and Pastor Jason (pastor@wickerparklutheran.org)

greeter (YouTube)

As a virtual greeter, your main role is to try to engage people and help them communicate with one another before and after worship, along with during announcements/passing the peace. We ask that you log on to YouTube at least 15 minutes before service and greet individuals as they begin to log on. Throughout the service, we will provide you with links that you may enter into the chat for others to use. This role will help visitors, guests, and members feel welcome! This role is also crucial in communicating technical issues with the audience or blocking inappropriate comments from outsiders. The complete Virtual Greeter guide can be found here.
