TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS EVE CHRIST MASS at 8:30 P.M.

There will be a candlelight service of carols and Holy Communion at 8:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, December 24. This is always an exceptionally beautiful service of light, Word, and music. All are welcome!

A 4:30 P.M. FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

As the number of children at WPLC continued to grow, requests for a family Christmas Eve service increased. After a poll of WPLC and neighborhood parents confirmed that such a service would be welcomed, WPLC's launched a well-attended family Christmas Eve Service last year, This year’s service will take place on Saturday, December 24, at 4:30 p.m. Like the later service, the family service features carols, candlelight, and communion but all in a context geared for small children and their families. And, for the smallest worshippers who would rather not worship, a tended nursery will be available.

CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICES AT OTHER LUTHERAN CHURCHES

Because most of the Wicker Park Lutheran community is out-of-town for Christmas, the congregation does not have a Christmas Day service. The following is a listing of area Lutheran congregations with Christmas services and the times of those services.

GIVING TREE

As in the past, we have a giving tree in the narthex. which will be decorated with mittens, scarves, gloves, and hats, Bring your “decorations”this week. After Christmas, those decorations will be taken to St. Aloysius’ Service Center where they will be distributed to those who are in need of their warmth this winter.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILD BEING SCHEDULED

Partnering with Thrivent Insurance, WPLC helps in building houses for Habitat for Humanity in Lake County.
