Each Sunday at 10 a.m. we welcome children in kindergarten through third grade to the Sunday school room of the church basement for a specially designed lesson. At WPLC we use the “Spark: Activate Faith” lectionary-based curriculum that allows children to experience the same stories in Sunday school that adults are hearing in the sermon and readings upstairs. We believe this makes it possible for adults and children to talk later in the day about what they experienced and learned. Children join the adults back in the sanctuary after the sermon. Throughout the year we offer a variety of adult education experiences to help deepen our engagement with the world and Scriptures. Check out the announcements section to see what adult education events are on the horizon. Examples of past and ongoing events include the following:
Brew & Bible – In this ongoing series we gather together to brew beer while pairing the flavor profile of the featured beer with a Bible story of the same “flavor.” It’s a fun event that is typically held after church and includes a light lunch.
Gospel Chats – This series explores the current week’s Gospel text verse-by-verse, allowing participants to connect the Word with the world and their lives.
