Dear [Senator/Representative] [Last name],

As your constituent, I am writing to inform you that I support refugee resettlement and asylum-seekers coming to the United States. I am strongly opposed to President Trump’s decision to pause the refugee resettlement program for any period of time.  This announcement discriminates against Muslims, violates our American ideals as a nation of immigrants, and goes against Christian teachings of welcoming the foreigners and caring for those who are in need.

Refugees and immigrants make our country, state, and community stronger. [Add any personal story/experience you have with refugees in your community]

I strongly support the resettlement of refugees from Syria and other countries and believe the United States needs to continue to be a global leader for refugee resettlement. I urge you to do everything in your power to see this announcement reversed.

Sincerely,

[Your name]
